Latest News Walnut Hills Beats Amelia 7-6 in FAVC Game After losing to #1 Turpin and Little Miami, the Eagles bounced back and beat the Amelia Barons in a tight game. Walnut Hills is now 5-3 (1-2 FAVC Cardinal); this is the first non-losing season for the Eagles since the 2000 team went 6-4 and narrowly missed the Divison II playoffs. With two games remaining, the 2009 Eagles have a chance for a winning season and are still in contention for a D-II playoff berth. WHHS is currently 9th in Region 8 (eight teams qualify for post-season play). Your Eagles are home this Friday against a strong Wilmington team. Please come out and support the team! Bring your warm jackets and maybe even a Snuggie...looks like it's going to be cold! Go Eagles! Yesterday, the 8th grade Eagles beat Nagel 18-6. The 7th grade team won by a score of 12-6. The jr. High teams play again Thursday. please see the schedule for times and locations. Walnut Hills Beats Talawanda 31-13! The Eagles were on the road to Oxford last Friday to take on the Braves of Talawanda (FAVC Scarlet). This was the Eagles' last "non-league" game before facing five straight FAVC Cardinal opponents, beginning with Turpin on Friday October 2 (at Robert S. Marx Stadium). Walnut Hills is currently 4-1 and ranked #6 in the Enquirer D II-VI poll . Turpin is currently 5-0 and ranked #3 in the Enquirer D II-VI poll and # 2 in the Ohio D II poll. Congratulations, Coach K! Well done, Eagles!!! The JV Eagles defeated Talawanda on Saturday by a score of 14-6. The JV record now stands at 3-2. As well, the Freshmen team defeated Talawanda 21-6. The Freshmen record is now 2-3. Both teams face Turpin on Saturday October 3 to begin the FAVC Cardinal schedule. Congratulations, Eagles!
The Eagles drop to 3-1 after losing to #10 Mt. Healthy The Walnut Hills Eagles lost to the Owls of Mt. Healthy on September 18 by a score of 23-13. Don't worry, Eagle fans, Coach K will get the team back on the winning track. The Eagles are on the road this week (September 26) at 0-4 Talawanda. Walnut Hills takes on the Braves at 7:30 at Talawanda High School. Please bring the Nuthouse to Oxford!! Go Eagles!!! |

Walnut Hills Football Alumni News Ben Heiser, Class of 2009
We congratulate Ben Heiser for his career at Walnut Hills High School. The TD Club and the WHHS Coaching Staff are proud of Ben and his accomplishments. Heiser has decided to attend Fordham University and will play football for the Rams. Good luck, Ben. We know you'll make your family proud.
Dan Weintraub, Class of 2008 Looks like Dan Weintraub caught his first collegiate pass for Oberlin last Saturday. Nice job, Dan. We're sure there will be many more!!!! Dan Weintruab, a 2007 FAVC Cardinal First Team selection at wide receiver, is attending Oberlin College and will play football for the Yeomen. As a senior at Walnut Hills, Weintraub caught 47 passes for 663 yards with 5 TDs, averaging 14.1 yards per catch. Weitraub is currently going through summer practice and saw playing time in Oberlin's most recent scrimmage. He is a pre-med major and chose Oberlin based on its stellar record in placing its graduates in medical school. He is considering Internal Medicine and Neurology among other specialties.
