Walnut Hills Eagles 10 - Purcell-Marian Cavaliers 7

The WHHS TD Club is pleased to announce that your 2008 Walnut Hills Eagles, led by new head coach George Kontsis and his staff, defeated the Purcell-Marian Cavaliers 10-7 in the season opener for both schools on August 22 before an over-capacity crowd at Robert S. Marx Stadium (photos and stats). In spite of the heat and humidity, it was a great night for football. In other football action, our JV Eagles beat Purcell-Marian on Saturday by a score of 12-0. The Freshman (according to Highschoolsports.net) beat Clark Montessori 36-22 (scrimmage). Congratulations to all WHHS teams and coaches!!!!

Robert S. Marx Stadium was designed to hold 2,400 fans. Estimates for last week's opener against Purcell range from 4,000-5,000 in attendance!!! Thank you for supporting the Eagles!!! The TD Club hopes a large contingent of Eagle fans makes its way to see Walnut play at Milford this Friday night. Please come out to cheer on the 2008 Eagle Football teams!!! The JV game will be at Walnut Hills on Saturday August 30 at 10:00 AM.

WHHS would like to thank everyone who attended the First Annual WHHS Football Stag. Those in attendance were thrilled to hear University of Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly speak at the event and to reconnect with old friends and teammates. Please don't miss the 2009 Stag!!!
