2008 Season Closes

The Walnut Hills Eagles finished the season at 2-8.  Needless to say, after 36 losses in a row spanning the previous three and a half seasons, the 2008 season was full of reasons to be encouraged for 2009.  Walnut Hills played some competitive football this year.  Coach Kontsis and his staff believe that good things lie ahead for football on Victory Parkway.  Thank you seniors!  You endured a lot, and now you've laid the foundation for the future.

Underclassmen, it's your turn now.  Make a commitment in your academic work and in the weight room now.  The 2009 opening against Purcell is just 10 months away.

Football Alumni: Dan Weintraub, WHHS Class of 2008

Update: Looks like Dan Weintraub caught his first collegiate pass for Oberlin last Saturday.  Nice job, Dan.  We're sure there will be many more!!!!

Dan Weintruab, a 2007 FAVC Cardinal First Team selection at wide receiver, is attending Oberlin College and will play football for the Yeomen.  As a senior at Walnut Hills, Weintraub caught 47 passes for 663 yards with 5 TDs, averaging 14.1 yards per catch.  Weitraub is currently going through summer practice and saw playing time in Oberlin's most recent scrimmage.  He is a pre-med major and chose Oberlin based on its stellar record in placing its graduates in medical school. He is considering Internal Medicine and Neurology among other specialties.   Good luck, Dan.  We're proud of you!
